About the role
Our client is the market leaders in the funding, design, and installation of ground source heat pump systems. They are setting up their own drilling operations and need a hardworking, dedicated
Rotary Lead Driller with excellent people management and communication skills.
The successful candidate will benefit from joining the business at the early stages of a period of rapid growth.
Key responsibilities
Looking to hire an experienced Lead Driller
Responsibilities will include:
• Assisting with specifying and ordering suitable plant for drilling works
• Completion of accurate drilling logs
• Supervising the Drilling Assistant
• Ensuring that the correct PPE is worn at all times
• Ensuring that Risk Assessments and Method Statements are understood and adhered toat all times
• Managing onsite drilling operations to keep the site clear and tidy
• Communicate with site teams to ensure efficient drilling operations and satisfied customers
• Flexibility to work and stay away throughout the UK
• Other duties and special projects and required by management
Key requirements and qualifications
The ideal candidate will have significant experience in land drilling including experience working as Rig Manager/Lead Driller for rotary and geothermal drilling operations. The role will require
someone that is organised and with good planning skills together with the self-structure required to work autonomously, and in a wider team.
In anticipation of a significant period of growth, the candidate will be keen to take ownership of tasks and the development of new processes and systems required to take the company through
the next stage of growth.
The ideal candidate will have:
• At least 5 years’ hands on experience of drilling boreholes to depths of 100m-200m with
rotary drilling rigs
• NVQ level 2 Land Drilling qualification
• CSCS blue card
• CPCS plant operator card
• Full clean UK drivers’ licence and own vehicle
• Effective and clear communication and good interpersonal skills – both written and verbal
• A problem-solving mentality
• An understanding of regulations and guidelines relating to land drilling in the UK
• £40k-£45k basic salary (depending on experience)
• £30 monthly contribution to phone contract
• Full time position
