Graduates: The successful candidate will be educated to a degree level in Geology, a related Earth Science or Civil / Geotechnical Engineering. The ideal candidate will be ambitious, career driven, have a passion for geology and engineering, and with flexibility to work both remotely and in large project teams. 95% of the tme wil be site based.
Technically and logistically challenging project work across the UK. The work involves:
Work on brownfield and greenfield sites, contaminated land, roads, railways and airports, utility sites; variation of large long-term projects and small short-term projects both locally and nationally.
Occasional nightshift and weekend working.
Working alongside Industry specialists.
In-field project management and supervision of, but not limited to, drilling rigs with dynamic sampling, rotary coring and slope climbing capabilities, trial pitting with excavators and hand pitting crews and third-party drilling crews and groundworkers
Driving various vehicles up to 3.5 tonne.
Logging of soils and rocks to BS 5930, geotechnical and geoenvironmental sampling, ground gas and water monitoring and sampling, recording of buried
structures, GPS surveying, permeability and various in-situ testing.
Comprehensive training.
