Our client has a vacancy for an Engineering Geologist with 4-5 yrs experience (Permanent, Full Time)
This is an ideal opportunity for a motivated Engineering Geologist with up to 5 years experience, an immediate vacancy for a confident, hardworking individual to join a growing team of Engineering Geologists, Environmental Scientists and Structural Surveyors. Our client is a multidisciplinary specialist Geotechnical and Geo-environmental consultancy based on the South Coast providing investigation services to the construction industry throughout the UK.
They are currently looking to recruit a highly motivated and enthusiastic Engineering Geologist to support our existing team.
Role Description The primary job role will be the delivery of Site Investigation projects within a range of environments, including Highways, Rail, commercial premises, schools and dwellings for private and public sector clients. This will include the supervision of drilling and technical crews, logging soil and rock samples to BS5930, the selection and scheduling of relevant geotechnical and environmental laboratory tests and production of succinct factual and interpretive reports. There will also be the expectation that the candidate is comfortable to produce their own quotes, liaise with clients and manage their projects from start to conclusion. Required Skills The successful applicant should be qualified as a minimum to undergraduate level in Geology, Engineering Geology or a similar related discipline.
This position is open to applicants ideally with 4 – 5 years experience. A Post Graduate degree level qualification in a related discipline is desirable, but not essential. A strong work and team ethic are essential; the applicant should be enthusiastic, adaptable and capable of managing their own workload to produce a consistent and quality service to our clients’ requirements. Strong written and spoken communication skills with an eye for detail are also considered of paramount importance.
Mentoring and support will be provided with the opportunity for continued learning whilst working with the team, although a candidate of this level will in turn be expected to assist those in the team with less experience than them. The job role will involve travel to investigation sites and applicants should hold a clean UK manual driving license. Transport to site will be provided. Applicants should be prepared to attend training courses and work in a variety of environments, including Road / Rail projects.
Unsociable hours working such as night shift and weekend working may occasionally be required. As CE is located on the Southeast Coast of England, a candidate should ideally live within an hours travelling distance or be prepared to relocate within the UK.
